Libs--- Great to see your site and where you will be living. Your project sounds amazing. I hope all is well and look forward to keeping up with your travels on the website. You should take a week off and come visit us in Kenya (or maybe we can surprise you down there!)
I read your blog and would like to help. We at the Renewable Resource Institute of Namibia are dealing with challenges like yours. I can introduce you to UTEP which has been generating 100Kwe on a 24/7 basis for 15 years using a solar pond as the collector. Unlike your troughs, with this low tech solution, you would have reliable power. I would guess you would build the pond your selves
Dear Libby, We are working on Solar Power for Namibia. In the course of our research I found the University of Texas at ElPaso(UTEP) website. They have been generating 100Kwe for the past 15 years from a 0.5 hectare solar pond. They use an organic rankine turbine with R114 as the fluid. This method generates 24/7 power. Hi, Came across your blog and I love it! I spent some time at the BBCDC several years ago, and I really enjoy hearing about your work there. Also, the pictures are great. Please keep up the postings!
I am a graduating Mechanical engineer working with Appropriate Technology and Community Development Institution(ATCDI-Unitech Papua New Guinea)in Renewable Energy Section. I came across your blog and its good. I hope you could come to Papua New Guinea and we experiment this technology. Keep up with your communication

Libby, you are half way to writing a best-seller book! This is an amazingly rich encounter on so many levels.
